Pros and Cons of a Plush Rug

· April 10, 2021

When considering what type of rug to use in different areas of the house, it can be important to first think about the use of that area. For instance, a hallway or entryway could get quite a lot of foot traffic so it may be best suited to having a runner type of rug or one that low pile and easy to clean. A plush rug would probably not be suitable. However, in areas such as a bedroom or a front room, where comfort is desired, a plush rug might be an excellent option.

Pros of a Plush Rug

Plush rugs are incredibly comfortable and inviting for bare feet, whilst also providing a luxurious look. They are quite dense so they also tend to last a long time, if taken care of. Due to their density and thickness, they also tend to be quite warm.

Cons of a Plush Rug

As plush rugs are incredibly dense, they can be more difficult to clean or hoover. They also can show footprints. Staining could also be an issue as they tend to have quite long twisted fibres. Spills need to be dealt with quickly and correctly to try and prevent staining.

If you are considering a plush rug, it is recommended to use it in the correct area and to be sure to take good care of this type of rug to prolong its beauty and life.
