What is Interior Design
Interior design is the art of understanding human behaviour to create functional spaces within buildings. Whereas architects typically deal with the overall design, interior designers deal with the more intimate aspects of design, including specific aesthetic, functional and psychological issues and the space’s personality. Interior designers work closely with architects, civil engineers, mechanical engineers, builders, and assistants to determine how interior spaces function, look and are arranged.
Interior designers go beyond choosing colour palettes and furniture. They apply their knowledge to develop building concepts and sustainable design principles and manage and coordinate professional services, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing and life safety. They do all this so that you can live, study or work in an aesthetically pleasing environment.
When it comes to home interiors, these are often personal statements to the owner and designer, each of whom is involved in every aspect of the design.
